More Troubles: Cannot fully delete PT 2005

I posted my first problem on Jan 12th.

Now, in following the advice I received from jv16 via the Forum, I have tried repeatedly to uninstall PT 2005. I remove all apparent traces, then I try to download a fresh version. The download does not take place because PT 2005 is recognized by downloading software as already having been downloaded.

When I then try to install PT, the Install Wizard asks me if I want to install the handbook and the translations. It never gives me the option to reinstall PT, which is now always greyed out in the Wizard window.

Hence, I cannot now install PT at all. How can I get past this problem and use the program I have licensed?

If you look closer, the option isn't grayed out, but in fact the option is selected and disabled. In other words, the PT is always installed and you cannot change that option (i.e. only to install translations or Handbook).
