On my Windows XP Pro SP2 PC I installed both RegSupreme Pro 1.2 and jv16 PowerTools 2005 version 1.5.1.3.11. I get the following results when I run Registry Cleaner with these two tools.
1. RegSupreme Pro 1.2 -
"The registry scan is now complete. The procedure took 36 second and 957 invalid items were found."
2. jv16 PowerTools 2005 ver. 1.5.1.3.11 -
"Errors found: 792” 622 of these were High Severity errors.
Yes, I have read the jv16 post http://www.macecraft.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=490 about why results might be different between RegSupreme Pro 1.2 and jv16 PowerTools 2005. Still, I can’t help but wonder what bad thing might happen to my Windows Registry if I simply allow RegSupreme Pro 1.2 to “fix” those extra 165 “errors” (957-792) that it found that jv16 PowerTools 2005 version 1.5.1.3.11 was unaware of.
Also, between these two products, which one comes up with the most reliable number of Registry errors?
Lastly, how can I very carefully implement fixing these errors without risking my PC’s health? What process are other users of either of these two products using to safely "fix" the many “errors” detected by either of these two products?
