Uninstaller left registry error

The uninstaller left an error when I uninstalled Divx software. This box pops up every minute or two and is extremely agravating. I need to know how to get rid of it. (Windows 7 Pro, fully updated)

My best guess is that this is a driver related file and it could not be removed because it was running (Windows does not allow deletion of currently in use files). Have you tried running the System Cleaner of jv16 PowerTools? It contains many registry error fixing modules, which could find this file reference and delete it? Another thing you could try is to start Windows in Safe Mode and then manually try to delete the DivX files.

This has been going on for a very long time. I can not find any files to delete. I have run JV16 in many versions and it fails to correct this problem.

I would recommend the following:

1. Go to "Program Files(x86)" find DIVX and delete it if it's still there

2. "Users" then (your user name) App data>>Roaming and delete DIVX from there.

3. Use RegEdit.exe or jv16 PowerTools' Find All feature to delete all registry entries and keys of Divx.

I found a folder named "DivXShared" and deleted it. That seems to have resolved the problem. Bear in mind that your JV16 software could not locate this folder and caused the problem in the first place. Thanks very much for the assistance.

We don't always delete "shared" type data because that is, by definition, shared by two or more software. Hence, if we'd uninstall all shared data when uninstalling one app, this could affect other apps using the same shared data. That is why the item was not removed. We cannot control what kind of error messages third party apps show, so I'm afraid we cannot really do anything about DivX showing some kind of error message relating to this.
