My Win 10 1809 start went bad after a CHKDSK /f, but a restored image won't start either (BSOD BAD SYSTEM CONFIG INFO w/0x807800B6); but all the files from the backed-up image are on the drives now via the emergency restore, and the BCD points to the \Windows folder on drive 4. sfc /scannow reports no errors.
The system-start drive is 1, where \Boot is, and it's active, new nt60 boot record, then bootrec /fixmbr, /fixboot run with no errors. I then backed up the BCD and created a new one with bootrec /rebuildbcd, which found F:\Windows fine, where it was installed years ago. So, I need to check the restored Registry files in F:\Windows\System32\Config off line, to see if its file integrity is OK. I have JV 16 PowerTools, so is there a program in there that can check the Registry with off line, as SCANREG once did? This BSOD is completely obscure.'
I've been down two weeks since this. Happened, and I'm using my laptop only now.
Thanks!
