I am using windows 7 x64, and jvPT 4.2.0.1898. Ran the registry compactor and one hive had over 50% compaction so was skipped for safety. How can I force jvPT to do compact this hive?

I'm afraid there is no way to force the compact in this case. A ratio of over 50% sounds too large, and that is why it is always skipped for safety.

Any other options to get the Hive compacted or to see which one it is?

I watched the compact screen and it is HKU\.DEFAULT hive. C:\windows\system32\config\default is the hive file and it's size is 512. (524,288).

Any way I can compact the file myself?

I used Regedit to export the HKU\.DEFAULT tree. why is it safe to not compact it when the original file was small, comparatively?

Will the private build help this concern?

No changes in the private build for my concern.....

The safety check against compact is there for a reason. Compacting of that hive could cause your Windows installation to fail.

1) Why would compacting that hive be bad for the computer?

2) what would cause that hive to be so big ?

1) There should not be any reason why a compact could cause any damage whatsoever. But, our field of business is full of "should not happen" and as we know, things that should not happen sometimes can happen.

2) Actually, the hive is very very small, that is relating to why it is skipped.

It's not possible, I'm afraid, for safety reasons (as jv16 explained in a post above).
