JV 16 2017 no longer compatible with windows 10.

For the last several months I’ve been having minor problem with JV 16, I’d run clean & speed up my computer & although I can clean everything listed the registry & file % doesn’t change, closing & reopening the program would usually show a change to 100% but of late this is no longer happening, the % remains at pre-scan %.

My last scan (several weeks ago) JV 16 deleted my Set Point software which in effect removed my Logitech keyboard & mouse from the software so I could no longer change the settings for the devices, trying to reinstall the software or re-register the mouse & keyboard did not work so I had to recover from a image backup. Once recovered I decided to uninstall JV 16 & reinstall but after setup & restart the PC ran extremely slow to the point that it was unusable - I left it 20 minutes & it still hadn’t loaded all the shortcuts on the desktop & taskbar. I had to restore from a disk image again. I decided to not reinstall JV 16 again until recently & I managed to get to opening the program & scanning but yet again the scan found set point software so I hid the entries but after cleaning the remaining entries the % again remained at the pre-scan amount, unfortunately upon restarting Windows it became slow again & none of my Windows app programs would open - the busy icon would show then stop & nothing else would occur. I had to restore a recent image again which means I don’t have the backup folder available for support unfortunately.

JV 16 X still works well but for the moment I don’t have either on my system.

Is there anything I can do other than return to JV 16 X or await JV 16 2018?

You may need to wait for a @018 update version of the program. Right now the spring update for Windows 10 out in April if they do not change it. Hope JV works withe the spring update when 2018 version comes out. Just have to wait and see. Hope they start beta testing soon on new version.

Managed to get 2017 installed OK but there's other problems with scanning & the settings.

I'll start a new thread for those.

Wednesday I was starting JVPowertools 2017. The start lasted around 5 minutes. After it was started I have closed it without making any registry cleaning. Afterwards all programms were not starting any more. Always UAC in red flags telling I am not allowed to run a single programm. Then I restared the PC. BSOD: Critical process died. Windows was destroyed. Thanks to Acronis having an image of the pc.

Uninstalled JVPowertools. Now everythink is fine... Goodbye Macecraft.

I too have had to uninstall again due to crashes & error messages upon starting the program, even the JV 16 X which previously was OK is having problems.

Program is hanging before scanning, scan is much slower than previously, it’s also finding program entries which I’ve added to the global ignore list like Roxio.

Recovered by Macrium for me.

No word on the 2018 version.

I tried again & it worked for a day or two then began receiving an ‘internal error’ message when choosing clean & scan my PC, I closed the error & proceeded with the scan only for the resulting scan to so nothing but entries from the global ignore list - Roxio, SetPoint, Corel, WinDVD. I didn’t continue & uninstalled for the final time.
