Fix: The Clean and SpeedUp My Computer can display a “Not Responding” error when started.

Fix: The Clean and Speedup My Computer can now find more errors to fix.

Fix: The software can display an Access Violation relating to module FilenameExtractor.

Fix: The software can display error about it not being run with administrator rights, even if it is.

Feature Improvements

Improvement: The user interface now responds faster and has a smoother feel to it.

Strange behaviour:

Every time I run JV16 PT Version 4.1.0.1747 it creates registry keys like

HKCU\Software\Temp_JV16pt_can_delete_003A2E88039 or 00528EC1085 or 007EBC57885

HKUS\S-1-5-21-2512777250--243002478-2513094586-1001\Software\Temp_JV16pt_can_delete_003A2E88039 or 00528EC1085 or 007EBC57885

JV16PT is finding these entries and wants to delete them, but I have to reboot the machine. After rebooting an starting JV16PT again a window opens with error: Internal Error CAFF-3.

I am so fed up...

These registry keys are created during the progress of the software testing whether it has full access to read and edit the system registry. This is required to ensure no third party software is blocking jv16 PowerTools' registry read or write requests. The test is performed every time jv16 PowerTools is started.

These keys are deleted after creation by the software and will have no effect to the user's computer.

Or do I have to use JV16 to delete them. When the last is right, than JV16 is the worst registry Cleaner I have ever seen...

These keys don't seem to be completely removable by JV16.

In addition, the error "Internal Error CAFF-3" appears when the registry cleaner is started and the program no longer responds.

Still have a problem with ver 1747. On staring the program I have a message that say's stopped responding and after about 10 seconds the program comes back.

This is a clean install on win 10 64bit CU. I have this problem on both my machines(Z270). The previous release would not run at all.

Also. when using "Clean and speed up my computer and selecting to have my reg compacted it just does nothing , only get the spinning circular dot's on reboot and when I check back in the program nothing has been done with the reg. Any clue as to what's going on.

Multiple errors encountered, e.g.:

1) "Internal Error CAFF-3" after update

2) Also saw 'running as administrator' error messages (can't recall specific message)

Then attempted Registry Clean (bug reports submitted):

3) "Access violation at address 00408226 in module 'jv16pt.exe'. Write of address 00000004."

4) "Cannot create file "C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Temp\pt_temp540418.ini". The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process."

Uninstalled and reverted to v.4.1.0.1728

Starting the programme I get the message that states "stopped responding" then after awhile it will start up. Reverted back to older version.

These registry keys are created automatically and also deleted automatically. There might be a delay with the deletion. The software needs to opened in order for the automatic deletion to happen, no tools need to be used to clean this data, the removal is automatic.
