Unrecoverable errors that require OS Operating System reinstall

-- drivers missing and no boot, Windows 8, 8.1, and 10.

I called HP because a laptop keyboard was unresponsive, and they said to reinstall the operating system.

Seriously.

Truth be told, that's what I did, and it worked -- but the computer was only a few day's old, and we had nothing on it.

But, really -- reinstall the operating system because a driver can't be reinstalled?

I have a Toshiba WIndows 8 that lost the driver to the network ... even a supplemental USB-to-Ethernet adapter can't be installed.

And it won't take Windows 8.1 update from CD ... works for hours, then says "failed, returning system to prior state".

I set the UEFI for legacy boot via CMOS so I could run a fix-cd ( Tenorshare Boot Genius ) ... and now I can't get back into the CMOS to flip it back to the UEFI HD to reboot.

A LikeNewPC CD for Windows 8-64 ran for DAYS ... but also made no changes ( at least the CD booted as UEFI with no CMOS changes ).

I'm reverting to

Windows 7 Pro

, then at least I can run ComboFix on demand.

Could you please elaborate more about the problems that you encountered with UEFI? For example, if I wanted to address the problems that you encountered in a blog post on our website for others to learn from, what should this content focus on?

This is one of the reasons why we soon plan to resume offering the PC Optimization Expert service.

The service will offer remote desktop support by one of our experts to any / all customers looking to schedule the cleaning and speeding up of their computers, driver updates, bloatware removal, etc.

If this service were active at this time, would you buy it? If yes, what price would seem fair to you (per remote session)?

Are you using any VPN software that may be pending a connection to be established?

Every time I run it with Administrator Privileges I get

You are currently running this program without full Administrator privileges. Using jv16 Power Tools without Administrator privleges is not recommended. Blah blah blah.

Having asked Macecraft several times for help on this, I get NO NO reply. There is nothing to smile about!

So I don't use the program any more.

Until this issue is fixed and until Macecraft has the decency to get back to me and to try to give me some help, I wont be using it.

Shame isn't it. I have been using the programme since 2005 and have a Platinum VIP but it seems this counts for nothing.

I can see your question regarding this issue was answered by our support staff back in March. Sounds like you did not receive the email notification about the response, that sometimes happens with email for various reasons, for example spam filters.

Please make sure that you add our support e-mail address to your e-mail client's address book.

This will ensure the fact that your Spam filter will not stop our communication to you by accident.

Blue Screen Of Death (BSOD - kinda sounds kinky : ). Windows 10 updates keep updating drivers that don't suit my Lenovo Yoga 910 Glass. I end up with the computer constantly crashing with an StopCodeError or an error 1d3. I then have to reload the correct drivers. Previously, I tried a hack to the registry to stop Windows from updating drivers. The code I had received and used didn't work and really messed up my computer resulting in recovering to a prior backup and then reloading the drivers again. *sigh*
