Virus on jv16 PowerTools 2017

I can't install jv16 PowerTools 2017 any more because it contains virus:

I always check everything with virustotal before installing any unknown software, and I already have seem this situation where a formely reputable company decided to include adware and other forms of PUP (Potentially Unwanted Programs) embedded in their main product (the open source filezilla and also foxit pdf reader for example)

It would be nice if Macecraft work with the mentioned antivirus providers to assure this is (or isn't) false positive.

On my side, while virustotal.com continues to detect malware inside macecraft products, I will never install or use JV16 anymore

Are you downloading the file from the official JV16 website? The file name within the virustotal link looks unusual for an official JV 16 program as their .exe file is jv16pt_setup.exe.

I have downloaded a Macecraft a few times (and at least 3 versions in the last few months) and I maintain all files in the same directory and just rename them either sequentially or with version numbers.

Thus files are all originally downloaded from official Macecraft site.

Virustotal continues to report jv16 PowerTools 2017 as infected and Macecraft has not done anything yet to fix this situation, nor applying to those antivirus companies to claim as false positives, nor taking their time to answer my statements here.

Macecraft should step in and present their explanations to this issue.

I downloaded the file from the official macecraft.com website.

I renamed the file because I have many jv16 downloaded versions on the same directory

If you downloaded the software from our official website, this is simply a false positive. As you can see from the VirusTotal link, VirusTotal scans the file with tens of different anti-virus products. Almost every single anti-virus product including every major anti-virus product reports the file to be clean, only three fairly unknown anti-virus products are making these detections, which are clearly false positives.

We work in co-operation with anti-virus developers and report all false positive detections to the anti-virus companies in order for them to fix the problem in the anti-virus products, but it seems some companies are slower to respond and fix the issue. As this is a case of another product not working correctly, there is nothing else we can do about the issue.

If you have downloaded the file from our website, you can rest assured there are no virus or malware in the files.
