The newest jv16 Powertools (2017) had slowed my system startup in windows 10.
The core windows and desktop portions seem to be about the same as where they were before the install, but software startup has slowed down to nearly three times what it took before. I only have a few startup programs, they are:
Sykpe
Yahoo Messenger
AOL Instant messenger (AIM)
nVidia GeForce Experience
Steam client
Dropbox client
Lightshot screen capture tool
My System:
Windows 10 Professional
Intel Core i7-2600 @3.40 GHz
32GB of RAM
main hard drive: 1TB SSD less than 25% full
All of these apps were up and available within 50 seconds or so before PowerTools 2017. Now Skype in particular takes over 3 times longer than that, finally loading a full 193 seconds after boot (per your own timer) After repeated reboots (hoping your software was 'training' my system to boot faster) I can say that Skype is always the last program to load, and always loads over two minutes after the timer starts (whenever that is)
It is not just that the last program is loaded slower, ALL the startup programs start later and load slower. For Instance, prior to the 2017 download AIM would pop up into the foreground within seconds after the desktop appeared. Now it takes nearly a minute for that to happen.
Not only are the startup programs slower, but jv16 PowerTools 2017 itself is much slower and less responsive than PowerTools X. Simply waiting for the screen to pop up after clicking the desktop icon takes over a minute, when it was practically instant before. Once I get to the scans, they seem to take about the same time as prior versions.
I can provide you with any logs PowerTools generates if you need them
