Bolosun wroteInstalled it and ran the clean and speed up analysis with defaults settings.
Selected the results and then clicked fix.
2 hours later it is still running.
What operating system are you running the software on?
Does your system have sufficient resources to run the operating system alone, plus additional automatically starting software, plus some possibly present anti-virus software and also a cleaning task performed by jv16 PowerTools (not many resources needed by our software, as we will soon show in our public test results)?
For example, in our lab, we have concluded that for the latest Windows 10, the host machine needs to have at least 8 GB of DDR3 RAM memory or the system will start to get "laggy" when used intensively.
If you wish to help us to determine the conditions under which the software runs at your side and the possible cause of the high amount of time needed for the Clean and SpeedUp My Computer tool to apply all the selected changes, please do this:
1. Download jv16 PowerTools 2017 again from https://www.macecraft.com/download/
2. Install the product
3. Using Clean and SpeedUp My Computer, scan using the default aggression settings and wait for the report screen to show. There, do not clean anything. Instead, close the product.
4. Archive C:\Program Files (x86)\jv16 PowerTools 2017\Backups into preferably either ZIP or RAR archive file format (other formats are welcome too)
5. Upload the resulting archive to https://wetransfer.com/ and once done, copy your temporary download link
6. Send me a forum private message with your wetransfer.com temporary download link and a link to your support ticket if any already open (see your support confirmation e-mail) and I will make sure to speed up the investigation for you particular case
Note of caution: Do not include the temporary download link of your local jv16 PowerTools 2017 'Backups' folder in any future public forum reply as this folder may contain private information about your system that should not be made public (only to be used in bug report assessment inside our lab). For this reason, the suggestion for a private message or inclusion of the 'Backups' archive in a support ticket.
Bolosun wroteTried a couple of times, so un-installed and went back to 2016 version.
Canceling and retrying to complete the cleanup process will actually require some of the work already done by jv16 PowerTools 2017 to be redone and time is actually wasted there.
Instead, please follow the steps 1 - 6 above and let me know when done.
Alternatively, once done, you can also try to allow jv16 PowerTools 2017 to run over-night, in an attempt to allow it as much time as needed to clean your particular system (maybe there are a lot of uninstalled software leftovers there?). This should never be necessary, however, depending on the level of computer clutter that has been gathered on your system and the amount of resources available to the cleaning process, on some old systems, the cleaning process might indeed take longer than expected but usually no more than 10 minutes.
As a result, we are definitely interested to look into this matter further, if you will be so kind to provide the necessary data to analyze.
