macew Perhaps a feature to delete all index.dat files could be added to the upcoming 2006 version of power tools? I personally don't think a privacy protector is doing its job unless these files are deleted since they contain a record of every url visited.
macew However, there is at least one index.dat file that should NOT be deleted and its in a directory name containing "PCHEALTH." If its deleted your XP system information accessory will no longer function correctly.
