The jv16 PowerTools X will soon include an Automatic Updates feature that, if enabled, will automatically download and install updates to the program, including new versions of the translation files.
This means that if you are editing any translation files and you run PowerTools X with the Automatic Update enabled, it can download the currently latest version of the translation and overwrite your local, edited copy with it.
So, if you work with translations and edit translation files, go to Settings > User Interface Details and make sure the "check for updates" feature is disabled for translations.
If you do not see the "User Interface Details" tab, ensure you have the "advanced mode" checked from the first page of the Settings tool ("user interface").
