PT X 1487: file lists almost useless without Columns menu

Attachment shows File Finder lists from jv16pt 2014 and jv16pt X (1486).

Jv16pt X (1487), just installed, of course has the issue also.

Now is: PT X 1487: file lists almost useless without Columns menu

For every file in the list, one shouldn't have to use Explore or esoteric means to discover file information that could be present in the list via the Columns menu. Prior versions of Power Tools allowed users to tailor the lists to fit their needs.

AGREED: This column simplification in jv16PT2015_X_b1487 is not really an improvement!

Agreed as well. This issue is now fixed, the fix will be included to the next released build of PowerTools. Screenshot also included 8)

Settings (size / date/..) from the added File tools menu -> columns are not remembered.

Closing/open File tools will show again the defaults "Directory and File''

Is this by design?

In PT X 1492:

Confirmed, that the Column settings are not remembered.

Also: Columns-->Dates-->All works, but the other three options do nothing.

Correct, however, this issue has already been fixed with the earlier reported Dates columns feature fix. A fixed version will be released later today.

Good catch, thank you for reporting! This is also now fixed. The fix does not require any changes to the translation files, it was simply a bug in the program. A fixed version of the program with this issue fixed will be released later today. Thanks!

W7-x64 Prof. with jv16 build 1494:

1. Column settings are NOT remembered between sessions.

2. There is something wrong with the 'Attribute' column:

- Add the 'Attribute' column,

- Add 'Data all' columns,

- Remove 'Attribute' column,

- Remove the 'Data created' column.

This seems to be a very difficult issue to fix. However, we are most likely switching to a better result listing component altogether with the PowerTools 2016, this change is expected to fix the mentioned issues.
