Shared dll problem with aggressive scan

Hi,

I had a big problem with "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SharedDLLs" : I couldn't deinstall LibreOffice nor update it because it was impossible to open that string (error 1304), just after a JV16 cleaning :

I was lucky, because I had a recent C:\ drive image...

Your message is a bit unclear on few things:

1) What displayed "error 1304" and when?

2) What version of PowerTools you used?

3) What tools of PowerTools did you use?

4) Did you try to restore the backup created by PowerTools?

5) Do you still have the backup(s) created by PowerTools?

1) What displayed "error 1304" and when? --> During LibreOffice installation or desinstallation.

I MADE A MISTAKE, IT WAS ERROR 1402 :

"Error 1402. Setup cannot open the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\SharedDLLs. Verify that you have sufficient permissions to access the registry or contact Microsoft Product Support Services (PSS) for assistance"

2) What version of PowerTools you used? --> I think it was 4.0.0.1477

3) What tools of PowerTools did you use? --> Clean and fix, strongest

4) Did you try to restore the backup created by PowerTools? --> no, because too many backups, couln't remember which one was the good one

5) Do you still have the backup(s) created by PowerTools? --> yes

I did a Drive Image backup I made before cleaning, and it came back OK, I could install LO.

I think JV16PT made bad to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\SharedDLLs

Can you perform the scan again using the same settings as before, but instead of removing or fixing anything, just select File -> Save List As and send the result list here? This way I could take a look of what's going on.

Have you tried if the issue occurs if you do not use the aggressive scan?

- agressive (4th level)

- very sure (2nd level)

with v.1480
