FYI: Build 1480 released

New jv16 PowerTools X build released. We rolled a new build out earlier than planned because of the bug in the registry cleaning engine (https://www.macecraft.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=5580).

The Change Log:


Bug fix: If you are running Windows 8 or newer AND your system has an E disk drive (e.g. "E:\") the Clean and Fix My Computer may display a false positive detection of data that it incorrectly stats should be deleted. Removal of this data is not critical to the operation of Windows and the bug doesn't affect all users.

Bug fix: Some parts of the main window always show in English even if you are using a translated version of the program.
Bug fix: The Startup Optimizer can fail to properly execute certain software under specific conditions. If you have tried the PowerTools X and after using it, not all your startup software start, this bug is probably the reason. This bug fix ensures the software are run again properly at tnext system startup.

Improvement: Added Open in RegEdit feature to the right-click menu of the Clean and Fix My Computer tool.
Improvement: Added keyboard shortcuts to most common features of the Clean and Fix My Computer tool.
Improvement: Minor GUI visual improvements.
Improvement: The Startup Manager now displays the information about disabled software in a more user friendly way.
Improvement: Improved the speed of the registry cleaner engine.
Improvement: Removed the caching of the Check For Updates. Before, the program would query the Macecraft's server for a new version update at most once a day, even if user clicked the Check For Updates more often. From now on, the automatic new version check occurs still at most once a day, but if user manually opens the Check For Updates, the checks the Macecraft's server every time.

The following issues are still present in build 1480 and will be fixed shortly:

* All desktop icons are the same jv16 X icons



* Add the forum link back to the program

* There seems to be one small but irritating bug when installing an update for jv16 Powertools X. Although I have installed only two languages (Finnish and English), running the update offers by default also Spanish, with the latest update also Dutch and Polish (if I remember correctly, Filippino was also on the list on one update). What is the reason for this, and why just these languages? One possible reason for the choice of just these suggested extra languages that springs into mind is that something with just them has been changed with the specific update.

When you click "Clean and fix my computer" (CFMC) from "Home" menu, you will get the CFMC - window, which looks normal.

When you click "Registry Cleaner" from "Registry Tools" menu, you will also get the CFMC - window. It shows also "Clean and fix my computer" in the window title bar and it does exactly the same as the CFMC from "Home" menu.

This does not look normal to me because in this case you want registry only and not all the rest of that stuff from CFMC.

The Registry Cleaner feature has been integrated to the Clean and Fix My Computer tool, the icon saying "Registry Cleaner" was added back to the Registry Tools simply to make sure all users find the Clean and Fix My Computer.

If you are using the program in English, you would also get a hint text explaining this the first time you click the Registry Cleaner icon:
