Reg Cleaner deleting some Internet Download Manager entries

Internet Download Manager (IDM) stores the entries showing in the user's download list view under key "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\DownloadManager." In my last run of Reg Cleaner the other day, it deleted the last 10 entries from the list of downloaded files. This had never happened before that I'm aware of (a few years). After a system restore (Win 8.1 Pro x64), I ran Reg Cleaner again and looked at the fix/clean list. The first screenshot shows the "Invalid file or directory reference" listings for IDM items, which were the only explicit references I could find to IDM in any of Reg Cleaner's categories. I unchecked those items, as you can see, but the 10 list entries were still eliminated. In the other screenshot, the registry entry for one of those eliminated shows it as valid.

Any suggestions? One alternative suggested by IDM's developer is to except IDM's top registry key, but jv16PT doesn't have an exclude option, so I seem to be stuck there. Thanks,

As a matter of fact jv16PT does have an exclude option.

In "Registry Cleaner" go to te option "Ignore Words" and there enter the strings to exclude from the registry scan, e.g.

"DownloadManager"

"Internet Download Manager"

"IDM"

(all of them without quotes and each of them below each other as shown above)

and those strings will be excluded from the registry scan.

Do Saved Preferences become the effective default in Reg Cleaner or do I have to choose "IDM Exclusions" every time from the Saved Prefs drop down?

Have a look at your program settings.

There's a tab "Preference saving" with the components "Manual preference saving" and "Automatic preferences saving".

Check both "Enable the manual saving..." and "Automatically remember the last settings".

With this last option enabled the last used settings will be remembered automatically, but it's recommended to save also manually, because one day you may use/apply another setting and then the previous setting will be lost.
