pdecrocq wroteHi,
I would like to know whether there are recommendations on how to migrate from jv16 PT 2012 to the just released 2013 version ?
- Is an uninstallation of 2012 required or recommended ?
- Can one install 2013 over 2012 or is a separate folder recommended ?
- Will (some or all) settings be kept or migrated ?
- Should one install the trial version or is there a registered users' version (& where) ?
- How to know whether one is entitled for a free upgrade (and get the 2013 license) ?
Thanks !

1. jv16PT2012 can be kept in its own directory, next to jv16PT2013, no requirement to uninstall.
2. jv16PT2013 needs a 'clean' install, in a new directory!
3. By default the 'Settings' are not kept. I have not tried to copy the 2012 Settings folder to the 2013 installation directory. If it does not work, no harm is done, uninstall/delete everything and re-install 2013.
4. The full function trial version becomes a registered version if you provide/buy a proper upgrade license.xbin file (cost is $5.95 if you own a registered 2012 version for personal use).
See http://www.macecraft.com/pricelist/

5. Copy your 2012 license.xbin file to the 2013 installation directory and use the 2013 'license tool' to select that 2012 license.xbin file. This will show if your 2012 license.xbin is valid for 2013 too. Normally this is true if you purchased 2012 after September 2012.
