A reproducible crash. Steps to reproduction:

1st Run PowerTools

2nd Run License tool

3rd Click on the Close button

4th Close PowerTools

5th The crash

Two random crashes. I closed Decrap tool before crashes.

Another random crash (randomcrash3). I closed PowerTools before.

As reported here --> http://www.macecraft.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=31595#p31595 many previous PowerTools versions create an incorrect backup of REG_MULTI_SZ values. The issue also exists in Beta6.

Software Uninstaller does not work properly...

My experiences:

First is here.

Second:

1. I have not install Adobe Acrobat. I have install only Adobe Reader

2. I uninstalled Adobe Acrobat:

Powertools emptied a "Reader" directory in Adobe Reader installation directory...

This is bad!

Secunia PSI is not listed in beta 6 also (It is listed in Programs and Features in Windows).

Zipped Software.log is attached.

My suggestion:

Two categories in Software unistaller:

- First categorie: Programs listed in Programs and Features in Windows

- Second categorie: Programs not listed in Programs and Features in Windows

The current categories ("Installed software with uninstall info" and "Installed software without uninstall info") are not simply and understandable.

Registry Cleaner:

I selected and deleted with backup a group containing more than 200 lines.

As soon as that finished, an unsolicited extra backup dialogue popped up.

It has only happened the one time.

Program Debug Tool:

The tool got an access violation just before finishing its results window, which appeared as soon as I replied "continue.".

I started the tool again two days later. It happened again.

The attachment has the logs and reports from both instances.

Unit testing tool:

As in Beta3 ( http://www.macecraft.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=4810&p=31417&hilit=unit+test#p31417 ), and probably Beta4, the tool does no tests. Symptoms:

1. It does not complete a "Generating data phase"

2. It counts the elapsed seconds

3. It performs zero tests

4. It uses 50% cpu

5. Even after closing the tool and exiting PowerTools, jv16PT.exe continues to use 50% cpu

6. The Task Manager process has to be killed

On my laptop, after about 30 seconds, the tool still enters the loop at the same point, with the same outcome.

There is no way to move the backups and other program created files from an earlier version to the current one. Either when uninstalling the old one or installing the new one. would be grerat if this was added. Of course one can use windows explorer or CMD or install to the same folder every time - but my suggestion would be simplier for end users..

Under Win XP the Beta6 shows no icon on desktop with jv16-image. Only a standard symbol from Win XP is used.

Another two random crashes. I closed PowerTools before always.

File Tool

A repeated encryption does not work properly. Steps to reproduction:

1st Encrypt a file (check "Also encrypt the file name" checkbox),

2nd Decrypt the file (in the same session of the tool) - the file name on the list is not displayed correctly, but it is only a graphical issue - the file name is decrypt in fact.

3rd Encrypt the same file again (in the same session) - the message: "Failed to access to the file".

In the same session of the tool:

4th Encrypt another file. The previous decrypted file disappeared from the list...
