W7-x64 with jv16PT2013 Beta2.

1. The Decrap uninstall/cleanup function does not seem to function effectively.

After the 'confirmed' deinstallation of Java 7 update-9 and Java 7 update-10 I tried to do a clean Java 7 Update-10 reinstall.

However the Java Setup Utility came with an error code 1714 "a previous version of Java 7 update 10 could not be uninstalled.

Am I wrong to expect that that was what Decrap uninstall was supposed to do?

Using Registry Finder I deleted several old java registry items but so far it did not solve the problem, error code 1714 keeps coming back.

2. If I deselect ALL found items in Decrap Step 1 (so nothing to do!) and click 'Next', I expected a message 'Please select at least one item' but Decrap just continued:

a. Taking a System Restore point,

b. Step 3 select the 'Uninstallation options', after choosing 'Manual' and 'Clean the registry but let me verify the results'

c. Step 4, the uninstall, did not run because no items were selected in Step 1.

d. Warning message pops up. Clicking 'Yes' starts Step 5 the Registry cleaning.

e. At the display of the Scan result list, click 'Next' and this will show (only after a clean start of beta 2!) the window 'Please wait, finalizing the System restore point'.

f. This screen stay's on forever till you click 'Next' which does finish Decrap. However I doubt if the 'Registry Cleaning' is actually completely executed!!

g. If I repeat the actions from Point 2a thru 2e, now 112 items! are shown in the Registry scan result list.

Backup Tool:

Custom restore/Edit backup should not be an option for an "Automated task" type backup.

Only a full restore will work for an automated task. Editing of a restored task is best done with the Automation Tool.

humm, i missed this thread

Also my beta test starts with beta 2 :)

I started the "Clean and fix my computer" module and it worked one tzask after the first was completed.

But - could it work from the top to the bottom ? ^^

At me it starts with the last task and works - i think so - from the bottom to the top.

It's not so important, but would be nicer i think ^^

Now I'm running the Unit Test Tool.

I'll post the results of the Tests here in a Logfile, when it's done.

Attached is the DEBUGLOG and the BUGREPORT after running the Unit Test Tool.

It got a stack overflow exception at the end of the tests.

Bug fix: The Backup tool can take seconds to open.
The first start of the tool took 40 seconds to load the Registry backups list.

Switching to the File backups list took 24 seconds for it to show.

Switching back to the Registry backups list took 25 seconds for it to show.

Times are approximate. The debug log is for a repeat of the above tests plus a switch to the Other backups list.

Disk wiper:

I started a Disk wiper operation to "wipe only free space", then clicked the Abort button.

The operation kept going even after the main window was apparently closed. jv16PT.exe still showed using cpu in the Task Manager. After killing jv16PT.exe, there was a large file with a recent time stamp named jv16*.dat on the disk.

A later operation to wipe files in a directory ended normally.

The attachment contains the debug logs for each session.

Service Manager List Control:

The list had 180 lines. After clicking "Optimize," 6 lines were selected.

Instead of searching through the list, I did the following expecting to get a list with just the 6 lines:
- * Select->Inverse, which left just 6 lines unselected.
  
  * Right click a line->List Control->Remove from list, which removed 1 line from the list. It was not the line which was clicked. I suspect it was the first selected line in the list.
  
  * Shouldn't it have removed all the selected lines?

Confirmed W7-x64, but the filename is jv16pt_wipefile.bin with a size of 1.1GB!

If I remembered well this was already addressed in jv16PT2011, but apparently it was by design (jv16).

I just did the test with jv16PT2012. With just one use of "Remove from list," I got a list showing only the desired six lines.

1. Program Secunia PSI is not listed.

2. Jv16PT closed spontaneously after unistallation of a program. Only once - see jv16PT_debuglog_uninstallation.html.

The content of the file lines disappears during a "Copy to ..." operation (for example).

It reappears when you click the "OK" button.

Main program - Out of memory exception:

I closed the program before dinner. It appeared to close normally, that is, it dropped from the task bar.

When I returned about two hours later, there was a bug report window showing an "Out of memory" exception.

It seems the program kept going after it was closed. The last time stamp in the debug log is 18. The time stamp on the bug report window is 18, 626ms.
