Hi Everyone,

When trying to go to a registry entry in Registry Cleaner and Registry Finder via the jv16PT 2005 'RegEdit' context menu nothing happens.

That is, when you highlight a registry entry then right click the mouse and choose 'RegEdit', it should open RegEdit and jump to the registry entry automatically.

In jv16PT 1.4.1 it works fine.

Any ideas anybody?

The bug described in BlackDex's link isn't the same, it's only in the Registry Manager and the problem was easy to pinpoint and fix.

However, I can't seem to find any bug that could cause this. (and the feature works all right here)

Could you tell me what version of Windows you are using? I trust you haven't changed the default settings of the product, such as what registry editor it should use (Settings > Advanced).

And could you try to type "regedit.exe" to Start button > Run and hit enter. Does the Registry Editor start?

Indeed. It isn't the same. I Couldn't check it out becouse i whas at work atm.

But it works here just as it should be.

SAME problem here!

I'm on Win98SE, i haven't changed the default settings of the product and if i type 'regedit' to Start > Run and hit OK, everything works fine...

The opening a registry key to RegEdit doesn't work under Windows 9x at all.

That sounds very strange. Maybe it doesn't work under Windows 95 then, I was quite sure it was Windows 9x but I might remember wrong.

I just purchased and installed 1.5.1.311 on a Win98 First Edition system, and the CTRL+R link still does not work to regedit.exe when a Regcleaner entry is highlighted. If you select the regedit option from the right-click or attempt to use the hotkey combo, the pop-up goes away but absolutely nothing happens. I double-checked the file association for .reg files, and it is still regedit.exe on this system - so that isn't a cause. Will there be a fix eventually for us Win98 users? :(

Well I've been away from jv16 2005 since my posting 'RegEdit' on 20 March.

Just downloaded version 1.5.1.311 and the problem is still there! :

RegEdit works fine from Run command.
