Does jv16 PT 2005 v1.5.1.310 support Registry Compacting, Compactor, Compaction?
I use jv16 1.4.1 and love it. I uninstalled two other registry utilities because when it comes to the registry I don't want to risk chaos----I go with the best, jv16.
There is *one* function that one of my other utilities includes and that is a compacter compactor compaction operation. I have been unwilling to take the risk of registry smashing so I have never used it in that product.
I trust jv16 v1.4.1 completely but it does *not* support compaction.
I don't think v1.5.1.310 includes compaction either, but if it does then please elaborate.
Do you have intentions or concrete plans to add this function, OR is REGISTRY compaction a dangerous shoot-yourself-in-the-foot feature INTENTIONALLY left out for our own safety?
In the alternate, do you have a reliable and safe third-party compactor you recommend?
BTW, I *do* use a disk defragger and a 7200rpm 8MB disk.
Environment is XP Pro SP2 on a three year-old otherwise well-tuned rig.
Machine OS evolved from:
XP Pro (base) -> SP1 -> HDD crash/full volume restore ->SP2.
Approx 20 or 30 products installed and then UNinstalled over those years.
