My old Vista 2011 isue

I have posted before and contacted support with no solution. On a Vista 32bit PC 2011 with an early build just fix in registry appeared to freeze and needed a reboot to get out of it. With the current build it does run but extremely slowly and abort will work (error report come up and was sent to support). I tried again and still no use. After a time of very slow apparent activity I aborted and ran 2010 with no problems. It found just the same issues, so non had been removed by 2011, from installing the updated MS Silverlight and fixed then near instantly.

The only thing that occurs to me is the PC has two accounts and wondered if 2011 is being adversely affected by that? Every possible permutation for 2011 is added to Norton (nothing for 2010!)so it’s something in 2011 that hopefully might be changed in the now version being developed.

Have you tried this in Windows Safe Mode?

Not that I rember, but Idid try a lot of things when 2011 firest came out and didn't work on this PC.

When I get the time and get access to it I will give that a try.

My wife has finished working so had a go. Reinstalled to silverlight entrys, in safe mode no change. 2011 very very slow, it aborted but no errer mesge came up. 2010 cleared them all very fast.

Hi will do but is with reg cleaner OK? I have been burnt with beta programs in the past and am carful with them now!

Only do the 'Registry cleaner' and 'Clean & fix my Computer' scans, without the fix/delete of the found errors.

Just to see if your problems with jv16PT2011 and Vista still occur in the 2012 beta-2 version.

Its the actual fixing that is the isue, finding runs OK in 2011. I take it I could fix then restore the saved backup?

For me (W7-SP1 x86 and XP-SP3) fixing and restoring in jv16PT2012-beta-2 works without a problem. But I do not know about Vista!

Probably better to hang on then unless some one else knows it works in Vista as the good lady would not take kindly to my taking the time to creat an imige befor trying it!

I installed the beta, saved registry first. After the long install ran registry checker and it found a large number of errors. I added the beta to Norton. To be on the safe side I selected groups, MRU error’s sorted fast. Then selected the Obsolete software as could see nothing that looked alarming. This was very slow, the registry keys at the bottom of the screen very slowly changed, and I mean very slowly. In over 3 minutes no more than 3-4 keys and well over 200 reported, so I aborted. Abort worked with no error coming up. It’s no better than 2011 on this Vista twin account PC.

I have run the test program and it had errers. I have sent it as a bug report.

When able I will try with 2011 but with 2012 beta turning off the powere saving I had to run it alowed 2012beta 2 to work. Back on and the problem was back.

Tried 2011 with power saving changed, as with 2012 beta 2. Mixed results, it worked, but slowly rather than full speed as with 2010 or with power saving changed with 2012. But it did get there which is a distinct improvement to what was happening befor. Befor so little happened I was aborting after several minutes.

So what’s happening, both are being effected by power saving in Vista. I have no idea why power saving setups being changed should affect 2011 or 2012. Whatever is affecting them is more marked when power options are changed with 2012 beta 2 than the last build of 2011. The former with changed powere options fixed well over 1000 errors while t2011 slowly fixed the few from the MS Silverlight update (in nearly as long a time span). With the power options unchanged nether was usable.

Well I have upgraded to W7 on this PC and exactly the same. 2010 works well and 2011 is usless and hardly does any thing.
