The way I read it is if you have any previous version (other than current 2011) you can upgrade to the 2011 version & then you'll receive a free upgrade to the 2012 version on release.

I too received this which was strange as A: I have the latest version & B: as a Premium VIP user/member I'm entitled to free version upgrades for life (having paid for that privilege). :)

The offer to upgrade to PowerTools 2012 is not available yet (except via the mailing list campaign this thread is referring to). The upgrade option will be made available after the release of jv16 PowerTools 2012. And all users who buy PowerTools 2011 now are entitled for a free upgrade to the 2012 version.

Since last year I have a Platinum VIP license and a new email address, but I got the $3,- offer too, send to my former/old company email address which I used for my jv16PT upgrade orders during the years 2000 till 2010!
