jv16 PowerTools 2005 1.5.1.309 will prompt for a backup file after using Registry Cleaner even though backups are turned off in the options. This is a very annoying bug.

Partially you are right, but ...

PowerTools is not asking to make a Backup, it asks for the description of the Backup. And this of course is without sense as no Backup is created.

You are correct. On my second inspection, I realized that was what it was asking for.

jv16 PowerTools 2005 version 1.5.1.309 is creating a Backup even when I check "Never create any backups (NOT Recommended!)" in Program settings.

I'll echo By-Tor, thanks for the quick fix even though I hadn't personally run into this problem (yet).

When an upgrade is relatively minor, like this one, have you considered the possiblity of offering some kind of incremental upgrade for those of us who already have the most recent previous upgrade, possibly a patch? That way it wouldn't be necessary to download the full 2 megs (with manual) and re-install almost from scratch.

I realize that this would be difficult if not impossible if changes are in the main exe, but could be very handy if the only change is to smaller files such as dll's.

You don't need to download the version with the handbook again if you already have the handbook on your computer. Also, there is no need to re-install it from scratch, just install the new version over the old version and you won't lose any of your settings or backups.
