This is now fixed. The issue was caused the fact that the empty directory removal didn't count for sub-directories. In other words, if you removed an empty folder that included another empty folder, this was counted only as one folder being removed while in fact two folders were removed.

I'll release an updated build for you to check out.

As far as I can tell, these fixes confirmed OK:

Initial Setup does not back up HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run. Fixed in v.2.0.0.995.

Initial Setup does not back up HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run. Fixed in v.2.0.0.995.

Startup Manager: when disabling a task, the ...\MSConfig\startupreg\... key created is missing a necessary entry name and value. Still happens in v.2.0.0.993. Fixed in v.2.0.0.995.

Startup Manager: Enable for a selected disabled task gets an "Internal error ERM-1" pop-up. Only happens if Startup Manager did the disable. Does not happen if disable was done by msconfig before starting the Startup Manager. Fixed in v.2.0.0.995.

Suggestion:

C&FMC backups have a type of "Entries removed/changed with Registry Cleaner."

This should be changed to something else, perhaps to something like "Items removed/changed with Clean & Fix My Computer" or "Items removed/changed with C&FMC tool."

XP-SP3 with v2.0.0.995(beta4b):\

1. CFMC with Normal System scan finds 37 Broken shortcuts and 157 Empty folders.

At "Fix" completion 2 empty folders can not be removed due to 'no access allowed'; 155 empty folders are fixed/removed.

2. Restored the CFMC backup.

3. Privacy Tools -> System Cleaner -> no 'Flush' and 'Empty directors' specifieds -> 'Other' -> click the 'Start Menu Tool' and 'List empty folders as errors'.

the scan finds 38 Broken shortcuts and 157 Empty folders. At "Fix" completion 71 Empty folders stay in the scan list and 86 empty folders are fixed/removed.

But a second scan with 'System Cleaner' -> 'Other' ->' Start Menu Tool', in the same session, shows that only the 2 empty folders are not fixed/removed.

Backup Tool: double click column resizing often does not work if the first column (Description) is quite narrow.

To reproduce:

1. The Description column should initially be too narrow to show all the text. If necessary, drag-resize the column to make it quite narrow, close and reload the tool.

2. Double click the column margin. The column usually won't resize.

3. Drag resize the column to make it wider, then double click its margin. It may resize correctly, but some of the other columns may become too wide.

4. This behavior may be somewhat frustrating for the user, but, on balance, it's not too bad since it seems to remember in a reload what was last done. In other words, it is much better in this version.

My tests of the Tag System were going well in prior betas until I tried it with the Startup Manager. I'll resume Tag System testing when its issues in the Startup Manager are fixed.

Software Uninstaller lists this item:

Several issues were noticed:

Software Uninstaller lists Math Input Panel Accessory which is not a product, per se.

Software Uninstaller Uninstall can list 100s of registry items and files irrelevant for software=Math Input Panel Accessory.

Save list as ... in the Uninstall Software Registry data window can have apparent garbage in the middle of the created file.

Save list as ... in the Uninstall Software Files window can save the registry data instead.

Software Uninstaller main list: double click column resizing does not work very well.

Is this earlier reported Software Uninstaller issue seen as a "bug" or "works as designed"?

Almost no Software with Microsoft as the Author shows in my Software Uninstaller list. Is that by design? Or a bug?

New Software Uninstaller list:

I think the new list is more accurate. It shows fewer items, but they are usually actual products or applications. Versions prior to PT2011 showed many "pieces" of applications for which I had to do a "Never show again" to reduce list clutter.

Here's a couple of minor bugs wherein there are two lines for the same executable:

Edit:
Probably for a vast majority of users, Adobe Reader (C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 9.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe) would be a better choice than Acrobat_com.exe.

12/16/09 is the "Date modified" of the power2go folder.

8/25/09 is the "Accessed" date of power2go.exe.

Confirmed for XP-SP3:

The installation date 9-1-2010 is the 'real' one (the uppercase one), the last backup taken was on 2-1-2011!
