System Restore Point

I'd like to see the ability to create an arbitrary System Restore Point, unrelated to any planned activity like Registry compaction - just because, or because I plan to do something risky outside of PT and want to be able to recover to a known configuration.

That capability already exists in the operating system. For example:

With Windows 7: Control Panel-->System-->System Protection-->Create lets you make restore points as often as you wish.

XP and Vista can do that also.

I fully agree with Tullik: no need to have another "tool" already existing in the OS itself, otherwise the PowerTools could become too bloated.

Sorry, purely ignorance on my part. I agree that it's a waste to bloat the product with tools that already exist elsewhere. Another question, then: does anyone know whether it's possible to invoke the function via command line?

So add a button to run the existing System Restore :-)

I think it would be handy to allow the user to create a system restore point within the program, for example when the program is run for the first time.
