Decompression error 1026

In attempting to upgrade from jv16-966 t0 970 I am getting a decompression error message and I am told I can not use the older versions of jv16 because I do not have permissions - I AM THE ADMINISTRATOR. I removed jv16 and reinstalled and I still can not use even 966.

Help?

What version of Windows are you using? Also, do you use any Anti-Virus or other such software?

Could you tell me what the error message exactly is? Jv16 PowerTools does not contain such a message, so I would be interested to hear what the message exactly is.

I have Win 7-64 Home, I have Spyware Dr (very intrusive program) but just turned it off to try version 970 again.

OK! One suggestion at that site was to disable any spyware/anti-virus activity. last time I merely shut off a major function, this time it was disabled.

The installation was successful! Thanks. That is probably why updates from Adobe fail, also.

Again, problem solved.

An old Norton program once decided it did not like a VBA program I wrote, and it put my program into quarantine! That was Norton's suicide move because I permanently deleted it.
