I have what may be the same problem as "walkerpbus" posted on Sat Mar 06, 2010 4 pm. Registry Cleaner (version 1.9.1.606) finds over 400 items; I click "fix" and elect to "backup"; backup completes (verified using Backups feature (Backup Tool) from main jv16pt window and also using Windows Exploerer); but then nothing further happens (SysInternals Process Explorer shows jv16pt.exe with no activity). After leaving the program for a while (over night in one case), I have closed the window and exited the program.
I would expect the backus to be the same size, but they aren't: 3.8KB, 660B, 1.1KB, 770B, 663B, 661B, and 2.2KB on 7 different tries. Perhaps something is interfering with a full completion of the backup?
I tried reinstalling jv16 PowerTools 2009 (latest version 1.9.1.606) and have verified that I have my licence in the program directory (C:\Program Files\jv16 PowerTools 2009). The reinstalled program behaves the same.
I am using Win XP Pro SP3 32bit version with all current updates, running on an HP nx9420 notebook. (I also run BitDefender Internet Security 2010 and I defrag my hard disk daily using J. C. Kessels' MyDefrag 4.2.9.)
Versions of jv16 PowerTools 2009 Registy Cleaner prior to version 1.9.1.606 appear to have worked satisfactorily.
Any suggestions will be welcome.
