I use "Real Player" to organise my music. Recently I decided to do delete (but back-up) a significant proportion of my music. In RealPlayer it is very easy to mass-delete the source files of selected tracks. It is much harder to select and delete the relevant source files in Windows. So I hoped to use jv16 PowerTools as follows:
1. I made a copy of all my music files before deletion (about 20GB) into a new folder
2. I deleted the unwanted files from within RealPlayer
3. I used Duplicate File Finder in PowerTools - comparing the two, expecting to be able to delete all the duplicates in the new folder, leaving in it only the "deleted" files.
The result of course was a huge number of duplicates, and I selected "Select all but one duplicate". I expected all the selected files to be from one folder, knowing I could use "Inverse" if necessary, to delete all the duplicate files in the new folder, which I could delete, leaving only the "deleted" files . But the selection apeared random - some from the new folder and some from the original.
Is there something I can do to be able to select the files for deletion from a single folder (short of going through the very long list and deleting file by file)?
