All I did was click Start. Happens every time. Therefore, Directory Finder is unusable in Beta 4.

#89 is fixed.

Now it does #130. Furthermore, it continues to encrypt files even when PowerTools is closed off the task bar. You have to kill the jv16PT.exe process to stop it.

This fix failed.

In Beta 3, I saw tool tips all over the place in the History Cleaner list, for one example, and not just in columns.

Now, in Beta 4, they are gone, even from columns, in every list where I have looked.

These are all fixed. There are about the same number of tools that will likely get the same type of fix when developer time allows.

It seems this can still happen in Beta 4 . . .

I fixed this, just missing the Beta4 release.

I won't reply individually to all of the reported issues here, and I seem to be having intermittent connection problems with accessing the forum, but I will update the Bug Tracking post as I go through the list and testing.

This fix gave a marvelous result:

It produced an 82,412 line list in just 86 seconds!

Before, the same search ran for scores of minutes, produced no results, and could not be ended normally. It was kill time.

Of course the new "Collapse all groups" feature was very welcome. There were just 4 groups in the list.

This occurred right after I tried to bring up the Filter Panel by typing an "O" at the low part of the list. The partial "loose panel" came up overlaying parts of detail lines.

Since the program provides the same default description for every backup from a given tool, this issue has the potential of creating unpleasant surprises for users doing multiple restores at the same time.

For example, I selected 8 Registry Find and Replace backups, then clicked Restore.The messages indicated only 3 were restored.

When I add a digit, 1 through 8, to the 8 backup descriptions, then click Restore, the messages indicate all 8 are restored.

On Windows 7 x64 and x86 Professional with AERO interface.

When you move the cursor from icon to icon on various tool windows, the text sections below the icon bar flicker each time the cursor pointer crosses and highlights an icon. This happens on various tools...like it is causing the text to be re-written as the cursor moves over and highlights the icons. Note also that two icons show as highlighted.

These issues seem to be bugs indeed.

1) the number of values analyzed should always be higher than the number of keys analyzed (correct in the Registry Finder and wrong in the Registry Cleaner "Scanning the registry" box.

2) The Scan Report was present in both pre-beta's and beta1.

Running XP-Prof SP3 I do get with Beta1, Beta3 and Beta4 (never got beta2!)

Did you notice I am running the program on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, while your OS = Windows XP?

Maybe that makes the difference? I'm curious to read comments of users with the same OS of mine...
