The duplicate file finder works I normally use it set to 75% match criteria. But I have found to near identical files I say near because they are the identical picture but the size is different 1 file is 124kb the other file is 111kb in size both files are jpg & are in the same directory. I have changed the match criteria to 60% with no file matches.
I also tried setting the match criteria set to 30%, files to find from *.* to *.jpg, with option set to skip deep directory, skip files larger than 100 mb, disable cross drive, skip system direc, & have changed the search in to the folder that the 2 near duplicate files are loated in. This scan identified 2 files as being the same size but when you open the file they are not even remotely similar.
After running this set up of what value is the match criteria % identical contents. It will not find same content files with any value placed in the ___ % identical contents, all it does is take much longer to scan with the smaller number in the box but does not give any usefull results.
