Disk Wiper and what to expect from it

How long should Disk Wiper run approximately? I have Vista machine, jv16PT default settings with a drive of around 240 gigs out of which 188 is free.

When I run Disk Wiper to wipe only free space, it seems to take forever. Last attempt I aborted after around 13 hours, according to program it had written approximately 480 gigs by that time. The progress indicator was showing around 2/3 done.

It's no secret that the Disk Wiper is not the best tool of the PowerTools suite :(

This was my first attempt ever to use that tool :)

Didn't really know what to expect from it, as I've never needed it before. I guess I look for alternate solutions then.

Good news: I have a guy working on the Wipe Free Space feature of the Disk Wiper, it will be fully re-designed for PowerTools 2010.

It will take some time to do so it might not get to the first official version of PowerTools 2010, but just wanted to let you know that we are aware of the issue and we are working on to fix it.
