Invalid Files or Folders

Using PT2009, Build 1.90.580 on a Windows XP Pro SP3 System.

My preferred registry cleaner is PT but I just ran another program and it found 400+ "Invalid Files or Folders" results. PT2009 did not find any of these. (I think PT refers to these as "Invalid Files or Directory References.)

Just to be sure, I did check a number of these key values and sure enough for each one, the file or folder the Registry Key references does not exist and I would suspect it would be safe to delete the associated key. (Usually its a folder that has been deleted long ago.)

Is there an option that I have missed in the Registry Cleaner that PT2009 is not detecting these invalid key entries? I have run PT2009 in all test levels up to the most aggressive and it still does not show any of these entries. Or is this just not a check PT makes?

I did a search on the forum and didn't find specific references to this type of Registry Key not being identified.

Plese post or attach a list of a few of the keys.

Tullik,

Attached is a partial list of the Keys and the Directory path of the file/folder they point to. When I check each path (C:\ ......) the file or folder does not exist.

As you can see, the Keys are in Local Machine, Current User, Users, etc.

There were a lot more but I just picked a few in each category.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Its just strange that PT isn't finding any of these.

That's quite a broad assortment of keys.

For safety, I believe the program has an internal list of key words to ignore as well as the dynamic ignore list in C:\Program Files\jv16 PowerTools 2009\Cache\dyn_ilst.dat.

Perhaps your items match. Only the developer can say for sure since the internal list is not published.

Should I send the entire list to the developer, all 400 plus items? Will he see this post or should I submit via the bug report?

Interesting, but I can't remember the last time I saw PT show any items as "Invalid Files or Directory References."

I just wanted to be sure there wasn't a program option that I had missed that was causing these items (Invalid Files and Folders) to not be detected (or reported in the results).
