Wildly inconsistent Registry Health Score

I recently upgraded to JV2009, and I'm still getting used to it. One thing I don't understand is the Registry Health Score. When I open JV2009, there's a little icon at the bottom that says Registry Health. When I put my cursor over it, it registers 1/100. When I run a scan, the results claim that my Registry Health Score is 91/100, but the little icon continues to say 1/100. Am I right in assuming that this little icon's reading is just an unfortunate glitch?

It's the reading from the prior QSA ("quick system analysis"). Run the QSA from the main window File menu and the updated figure should reflect the results of the registry cleaning scan.

Thanks, tullik, for your quick and helpful response. I did as you suggested, and the Registry Health icon then went to 91/100. However, I confess that I'm still a bit puzzled. I would have thought that a "Quick SYSTEM Analysis" would affect the PC Health icon rather than the Registry icon. I would expect the Registry icon to reflect the results of a Registry scan, not a System scan. Oh well, at least now I know what they actually show.

The QSA looks at both the registry and parts of the file system.

The "PC Health" represents the "health" of the file system, i.e., an assessment of files deemed unnecessary according to the developer's algorithms.

Thanks yet again, tullik. It's the Registry icon that puzzles me--I would think it should reflect the same thing as a registry scan and wouldn't depend upon a Quick SYSTEM Analysis. Oh well.... I guess I'll find all this more natural as I get more used to JV2009.

This what the English Handbook for jv16 PowerTools 2009 explains on page 32:

The Registry Health Score gives you an overall idea of the general state of your registry. Do notice


that this score can be different from the Registry Health score of the Main Window because the
Main Window's score is a quick estimation, the Registry Health of the Scan Report is the real,

final score.
