Unfortunately , I have to reports serious bugs in the last version 1.5.1.306

Some of these has been already adressed elsewhere in this forum;however to be as complete as possible :

Language translation in french has ununderstandable bugs which are not due to the tranlator (Ichecked my file )

Much more serious : Finding and replace in the Registry does not WORK AT ALL ; the dialog window opens leeting you decide which words you wish to FIND ; any attempt to do that produces NO EFFECT ; it never offer the possibility to Start ; the corresponding button remains greyed out;

more generally , Explorer of files does not work ; Taking a Snapshot in registry Monitor and A second Two days Later , so what ? How to compare two such Snapshots ??????the manual is deprived of any indication about that ; A more detailed list will appear soon , but if one ads the already mentiondlack of classification by severity of errors , really there is a number of bugs which have to be solved quickly ; it perturbs very highly the confidence in the power of the program .

Finally the Registry Cleaner Is far from finding all mistakes , even if you chooseagressive analysis . how do you explin that? And more important when will this be repaired?

Hello Olivier,

I just did a simulation with Registry Find & Replace and soon as I introduced the Search word and the Replace word I am able to start and everything is working fine for me.

Concerning Compare snapshots I did find all explanations on page 35 of the handbook - may be you do have an older version.

What do you mean?

then the problems are in fact in the French translation, I'm afraid.

Please make sure you have filled in both what to search AND with what to replace it with. Both of these fields must be filled before the tool can be used.

You are correct, the Registry Monitor doesn't work as well as it should, but the usage of the tool is documented in the manual, starting from page 34.

How do you know it doesn't find all errors?

The golden rule of design used with the Registry Cleaner is: it's better to miss some errors rather than to sometimes list valid entries as errors. Because of this highlight on safety, the product might find little less errors as the previous versions, or some other products.

Like I have said before, comparing different products on the basis of how many errors they can list doesn't lead to anything. I could easily create a registry cleaner that could list 100.000 errors from each system, the downside is that the computer would most likely die if you remove all of those items.

I just understood what went wrong : some headers were translated in french And should not have been changed ; I corrected that some minutes ago.

Ok now I see that I am far from any understanding of what the registryb is; I take your answer for granted and will not come again on this point ;

one more question : Jv 16 Power tools cannot be found in the registry? No place where I looked for it nor for REGSupreme does indicate any key related to it(just a curiosity question )
