windows tmp-files in fileCleaner not found

Why the fileCleaner does not find tmp-files in C:\windows ?

Yes, the advanced checkboxes in "options" are UNchecked !

Be sure you have unchecked the "Skip System Directorys to improve safety".

Also, uncheck "But only files which have not been accessed for in the last..", under the 'Files to Find' and 'More' tab.

I have tryed it with these options, and it seems to work for me.

NOTE: Be very very carefull with the "Skip System Directorys" option.

It can do you more harm then good.

Hello Rob,

Just have a look if you have enabled under "More" the option " List all files from the computers temp directories".

My test-result:

Disabled = no C:\Windows\Temp

Enabled = C:\Windows\Temp is shown, even if drive C:\ is not checked under "More"

in Options, FileCleaner has to search the c-drive only

RESULT:

I expected the tmpfiles of the c-drive only, but...

shown are all tempdirectories with content on the C:\ and the D:\drive,

and the tmp-files in C:\windows

The filecleaner doesn't only check for the system default TEMP folder.

It does check every TEMP folder there is.

If you don't want to include a certain drive to be scaned, dus uncheck them at the 'Options' tab :).

I wrote in my posting: in Options, FileCleaner has to search the c-drive only ; in my computer are 4 drives: c,d,g,h...

but in the result I see C:\- AND D:\- drive

If you use the "List all temp files from computer's temp dirs" option the tool will list, like it say, all temp files from all temp dirs and thus bypasses the drive settings from the options.

...Maybe I should re-think that, it seems a bit strange, I admit.

Well.. it could be that the 'List alltemp files' option can obay the Drive settings. (With the Default TEMP folders as en aception).
