Registry Cleaner - lost its way? -- v.1.8.0.468

The program seems to have lost its way with the items shown in the screenshot. The errors are clearly not "Useless file extension" errors.

The zipped attachment contains the debug log and the entries.reg from the backup.

Could you please send a .reg export of the registry key in question? The easiest way to do this would allow Registry Cleaner to delete the key and send me the backup file, then you could simply restore it to put the data back to the registry.

I had already deleted the items. There were no noticeable consequences. The backup is attached.

I just now restored it, and the situation recurred.

Incidentally, the 56 lines show whether you do a full scan or just the "File extension" scan.

I'm afraid the only way I can reproduce the problem is if

do not exist. If they exist, I can't get Registry Cleaner to list these registry items. Could you please re-check?

If the files do not exist, the file extensions are useless. The Registry Cleaner considers all file extension registry entries as useless if they do not contain at least one valid action or data. So if you have a file extension key with a non-working file reference, the file extension is not valid and is thus declared useless.

OK. I understand now (I think). "Class" equals "file extension."

Every high order key in HKEY_CLASSES_ ROOT is, by definition, a "file extension." I was confusing the terminology with "file type," which is just a subset.
