Issue in History Cleaner (1.8.0.467)

The History Cleaner tool does not work in jv16 PowerTools 2008 (1.8.0.467).

I have executed History Cleaner and I have selected all the items found (91 items).

I have clicked the "Clear" button: appear the wait message, but the software is blocked (90% -100% CPU).

After 5 minutes I have clicked the "Abort" button.

Appear the following messages:

"Note: Operation aborted",

"Note: All done! 0 B of data was removed (0 files, 0 directories, 0 registry entries and 0 registry keys)".

Executed procedure:

1 - Uninstall jv16 PowerTools 2008 (1.8.0.466).

2 - Reboot.

3 - Install jv16 PowerTools 2008 (1.8.0.467).

4 - Run quick system analysis.

5 - Reboot.

Operating system: Windows Vista Ultimate SP1.

I did not make this a separate issue. It is likely a bug in the "general solution," which addresses these two issues:

I think the code is going through all the found file items looking for potential duplicates (the "general solution"), but a bug in that search results in a loop.

Probably -- for example, those error message loops are likely due to a common change made in (or called by) several tools.

I have the same problem (since version 467): when using the history cleaner nothing happens.... :-(

(has it something to do with files that can not be accessed f.i. the windows log files?????)

The history cleaner is a weak spot compared to CCleaner

Once in a while also a crash when closing down Powertools... (since version 467)

I installed version 466 again.

Same here.......as soon as I updated to 467, my History cleaner is NOT working......simply 'hangs' up.

I will await a 'fix' .

Confirmed - History Cleaner in 1.8.0.467 does not work - same issue as described above.

Hi Friends,

Just same issue here with ver 467.

1 - "Please wait" popup windows appears

2 - CPU-usage going up and staying at 50%

3 - Cleaning procedure looks like "looping"

4 - After "abort" all are items still present.
