File Split still not working.

As reported previously, the file split feature does not work for large files. This was supposedly corrected in version .460, but cannot have been adequately tested. If you don't have enough cycles to actually test your work, then I submit you should not be putting these features into the product.

the chat team answered me next version will be PT 2009 and will be available one day before next year ! So I suppose on 31/12/2008 !

He couldn't say about updates before that date...

Such a pity, I don't use some features, fearing about fatal errors. Before running Reg cleaner, I always do a drive backup. Last day I used browser cache cleaner and so, after that I couldn't open Outlook enclosures !!!

But it is not fixed! You actually have to put a little stress on the feature before you declare it fixed. You can retry splitting a large file all day and it will NEVER work. In any event, it doesn't cut it to postulate that the reason for the feature is insufficient resource. If that's the problem, let the program detect and report the condition -- not lapse into a catatonic state!

I'm sorry to spoil the party for all you jv cheerleaders and fans, but try-it-over-and-over-again-and-it-may-eventually-work software is software that doesn't work. I have repeatedly (patiently, even) attempted the split function on a system running nothing else. Exiting and restarting PowerTools has no apparent effect. On a large file (just under 9 Gs) the program appears to go into a loop. Observed with File Monitor, it never actually reads the source file or produces the first byte of output - no matter how long you let it run.
