siliconman01 wroteI dropped back to Build 446 on Vista Business.
1. Build 449 registry cleaner shows it is scanning over 300000 registry values more than 446 and is picking up many invalid keys. ...
I could not confirm this. Counts from Scan Reports show 449 scanned about 2% to 3% more entries than 446.
Perhaps the "read only" protection in v 1.8.0.449 (or some other intentional change?) could account for the moderate count increase.
Normal scans:
- v 1.8.0.449
- Keys: 165,292
Entries: 905,851
- v 1.8.0.446
- Keys: 159,365
Entries: 883,229
- v 1.7.0.422
- Keys: 159,379
Entries: 883,026
Normal scans plus ActiveX...:
- v 1.8.0.449
- Keys: 192,126
Entries: 912,126
- v 1.8.0.446
- Keys: 186,198
Entries: 888,065
- v 1.7.0.422
- Keys: 186,213
Entries: 887,793
None of the scans found significant "errors" (from 0 to about 6 items).
Disclaimer: this statement is from the Handbook FAQ:
"Basically, the number of keys and values analyzed is shown only to let the user know there is
something going on, they shouldn't be used as any kind of reference values nor used for comparison
such as against other products."
