File Cleaner -- Safe mode

Perhaps "Unneeded files" --> "Safe mode" needs to be made safer. For example:

*.chk picks up some files which are not "recovered file fragments," e.g., in Firefox and some others

*.temp picks up some *.template files in C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_02\lib\management\

Also, in Vista anyway, *.tmp picks up many files related to registry hives. Are these for sure safe to remove?

Note: this post has been on the back burner of my mind for months. It has no relation whatsoever to the recently posted topic "File Cleaner Disaster."
