RCleaner: "Failed to fix file reference ..." and more

Hello jv,

Even with version .446 I get the error: Failed to fix file reference " ", ...

This happens allways when trying to fix the errors, of one of the categories, found by the scan. After that Rc tells me that he fixed some errors, but the count in the selected category is not reset. Also I am no more able to continue to fix another category - the tool is frozen.

Closing the tool and doing another scan shows that the errors has been fixed.

Just at the moment - doing a second run after a "crash" - there was only a blank window, meanwhile the result line under the windows was showing some keys and entries found.

But as I can see absolutely no answers to the bug reports, I ask myself if somebody cares... :(

Don't worry, the developer is busy doing the necessary fixes (I hope).

He wrote somewhere he'll release a new version during this week...

Or is that a hell of a job or different for every computer? Like Redseujac I`ve downloaded ERUNT too avoid problems in the future.....

Fixing this problem by hand is very difficult... But now when I think of it, it shouldn't be too difficult to undo the damage within the program itself.

So, everyone who has experienced the problem with Vista: hold on still a little bit, I'll release in this week a new version that has a special feature that attempts to undo the damage and thus fix the problem. I don't know if the fix works, but it should.

Also, please do not think that even if I don't answer immediatly to a bug report that I don't care about it. We have been very busy after the PT 2008 release, new customers are coming in so fast and our message system is flooding. I have had to join the customer care team to handle these messages myself, not to mention working with some bugs withing the program as well.

I'm afraid, the Testversion .448 does only solve partially this problem.

The error message: Failed to fix ... has now gone, but after the first fix (registry errors) the tool stays frozen.

No other choice of items is possible, but Close button does his job.

At a second run - in Debug mode - when trying to fix other items, I got the message:

"Access violation at address 0047BD74 in module 'jv16PT.exe'. Read of address 00000009"

If you want I could send you the Debuglog.txt. by another way, as it's to big (even as .zip) to attach to this message.

Well, just did another run of RC by fixing registry errors, and again there was this error Message "Failed to fix ...
