Registry Cleaner - No Scan Report

After scan finishes in Registry Cleaner, no Scan Report is showing.

This is always happening.

Settings:

- Engine settings: normal registry cleaning (i.e. second possibility from top of slider)

List MRU and other History data: enabled

- Scanning mode: normal

- Results format: happens with both structured and raw list.

I assume you didn't check the "never show" box on the Scan Report. :

There is this minor Registry Cleaner bug which has been in the products for some time:

If the "Advanced options" tab has the "Don't pop up the window after finishing" box checked, it suppresses the Scan Report. The option does NOT have the effect documented in the handbook of applying to a minimized results window.

Perhaps that bug is the cause of the problem you reported. (?)

I just ran RC with the settings you posted (and the "Don't pop up ..." box not checked).

With the structured list, I get the scan report.

With the raw list, I do not get it.

Does RegCleaner.dat in your Settings folder look like this:


Mode=2

Show=True

Well, I have reinstalled the whole thing, euhh, I mean program...

Well nothing to do Scan Report remains invisible even with structured list!!!!

I wonder why you have that problem ... the only way I can reproduce it is by checking the "Don't pop up ..." box.

Yes. I unchecked the MRU box and the Scan Report showed. You found the way to reproduce the problem.

I normally run with the settings in the "Advanced engine settings" tab, so normally wouldn't see that bug.

As you said, "that must be a BUG."

Notice that the BUG exists also when in "Advanced Engine Settings" > "Enable custom selection of scans" is checked AND "MRU/History data scan" is also checked!

In that case the Scan Report does NOT show neither after the scan has finished.

Ah! Another data point for jv16. I normally don't check that box, but use the History Cleaner to "clean" selected MRU/History data.

Further clouding the waters, I usually use this bug as a feature to suppress conditionally the Scan Report. :

This is actually the way the feature should work: if the "Don't pop up..." setting is checked, the Scan Report is not shown as it would automatically pop up the window.
