Duplicate File Finder

Hi all,

I have been ripping my hair off lately, trying to get the Duplicate File Finder to find, yes that's correct, duplicate files. I have a folder containing several, identical jpg files due to my photo transfer software misbehaving, but the Duplicate File Finder finds nada. I have specified a directory starting point and a percentage similarity, but no results.

Could anyone please lead me in the right direction here ?

I'd guess you have "Skip deep directory structures to improve speed" and "Skip system directories to improve safety" checked under the Options tab of the tool, right? Try to uncheck these options and run again.

Thanks, that helped. BTW, I did not have "Skip deep directory..." checked but I did have "Skip system directories". However, I have never considered "C:\Documents and Settings\User" a system directory, though. My starting point was below that point. What do you think ?

PowerTools does consider the directory as a system directory, this is because there are many critical files stored in the directory, such as the registry storage files of each user.
