jv16 PowerTools 2005 Beta4 (1.5.1.292) is now released. You can download it from:

I'm very much hoping the new version works even for those beta testers the Beta3 displayed "Trial Ended" error message. I'm not sure, though, because I never found the exact cause for the problem.

Thanks for fixing the Maintenance-Flush Cache problem in Beta 4. Flushed cache and received an update request on next restart of jv16. :)

it looks to be accepting my registration file again. Beta 3 was telling me i was on a 30 day trial.

No.... it worked the first time I tried it. However, it doesn't work now.. :(

My jv16 PowerTools 2005 Beta4 software "says" it's version 1.5.1.293 not 1.5.1.292. The 30-day thing is not there at all anymore in "Help", "About.." with my license installed right away after installing the program. I am using a clean install of Windows Server 2003 from July 1.

This is quite subtle, but after starting pwrtools, if the first tool i choose is "Registry Manager" the "Starting programs" tab is empty and it does not automatically attempt to retrieve the appropriate fields. If i click another tab, that gets populated. When i go back to the "Starting programs" tab, it now gets populated. If i had ran "Software Manager" tool before using the "Registry Manager" tool, then the "Starting programs" tab would also populate properly.

So the only time that it does not populate is if "Registry Manager" is the first tool chosen. I tried this with "Start Menu Fixer" and "History/MRU cleaner" as the intial tools used, and it would also work fine.

As i said, this is quite subtle, but it does this consistently for me.

I Had the same problem. But this whas with an earlyer version.

It is fixed in Beta4 for me, don't know if this whas in Beta3 also.

Try to do an clean install of PowerTools.

Thanks for the reply BlackDex. I did as you suggested but its still there. It's a subtle thing and its not a critical flaw that blocks any functionality. Just reporting.

Hmm... i tested it out a few times.

And it is a bit inconsistent.

Sometimes it does, and sometimes it doesn't.

So this buggy is confirmed at my computer.

BTW.. i would like to meet that Barnabe , and learn his secret, in finding buggys.

FYI: There is a piece of debug code I forgot to remove from the Beta4. The debug code saves some data to "C:\TULOS_tiedostoja_less2.txt" if you use the Duplicate Finder with certain settings.

So, if you have a file of this name you can delete it.

This problem is also now fixed. I'm sorry it took so long time to fix, I guess I forgot it since I was so busy reading the e-mail bug reports.

The first released version with this problem fixed will be the final version which is released tomorrow.
