The jv16 PowerTools 2005 Beta3 (1.5.1.290) is now released.

You should be able to run and test this version even if any of the previous versions gave you "Your trial period has ended" error.

The new version contains many bug fixes and other such improvements, it doesn't contain any new features compared to the previous beta version.

You can download the new version from:

Please do not install it over any previous versions.

Flushing the Cache in Settings-Maintenance does not result in Beta 3 requesting to create a new cache on the next startup of Beta 3.

Follow up: On system reboot and then starting up Beta 3, the cache update request was generated. Is this the WAD for this option?

That's a feature, sort of, the program will not prompt for the cache creation many times. For example, if you once say no to it and then restart the program it shouldn't ask you again for a while.

This is just to make sure the prompt doesn't annoy people.

But you are correct, it should show the prompt after the cache flush.

beta2 had 25 days left on trial

after installing beta3 i get the "Licence Tool" window to find/buy a new license, but it closes in 3 seconds and i get 2, always two, popups that my tiral period has now expired please visit your site to to purchase a license to continue using the software.

after pressing both the OK on both popup nothing happens. checking the processes that is running; jv16pt.exe is still running.

end tasking the software kills it without any delay. so it seems that its not lagged up with anything, it's just running but has no window to display.

Bug or did i do something wrong?

It happens here too, in a mail I was told to wait to a new beta to solve the problem...

Yeah, I'm having exactly the same problem.

Trial has expired. Two popups.

Have removed all previous versions. I also note the program running in the background ...

Frustating as I would like to have some version of JV Ptools, but I've deleted all traces to try to remedy this fatal error. Suppose buying a license would be the sensible thing to do, but I'm concerned at the instability of the program at present.

I'll download JV PT 05 Beta 3 again soon . For the moment I've spent enough time on the problem.

Ditto here. I had downloaded a trial version of the latest non beta release. With about 6 days to go in my trial period, I thought that since it said here I should be able to trial this beta even if my trial period had run out (which, as I say, it had not yet), that I would do so, but it does not work. It gave me the two popups. I uninstalled the previous version and did a fresh install.

Does this mean I'm banned from trialling future versions of jv16 for ever??

When i installed Beta3 i got the message that my TRAIL period whas over.

So i couldn't test it. (Still can't) Becouse i don't have any internet connection where i am atm and im not at home.

Sorry that i couldn't helped with this beta3 :(.

i just DL and tried the beta today.. It looks to be working fine for me..

I do have one problem though...

When you click on the "Registry Manager" icon the RM window comes up. But i do not see the "Installed Programs" tab any more, is this a bug or did it get removed in this new version?

The Installed Programs tab was removed and its features are now available from the Software Manager tool.

Well.. First i get the messagebox about installing a new license or look for it. But it disapeers after 2 seconds or so. And then i get an messagebox 2 times with the same message, that my licesense is expierd, and that i need to go and buy one. But PowerTools is still running in the taskbar, and i need to right-click and close it that way.

But i will be at home in a few day's so i can test it then, if you havent already released it. (Im also working on some projects so im a little buzy also :) ).

I forgot to fix this for the Beta4, sorry about that. I now wrote it down to a piece of paper on the side of my monitor, I'll get it right the next time.

:) Hey, I wasn't refering to any lack of efficiency on your part ! I was kind of dissapointed that after trialing the last version I couldn't get to test out the 1.5.1 beta3 .
