I Misused filecleaner - any hope?

On first use of FileCleaner, I apparently managed to wipe out every file in every icon/folder/sub-folder on the desktop, except those in "my documents". : I thought I asked for backup and/or move to recycle bin, but, after extended search, I can't locate the lost files.

I was able to retrieve the desktop icons using MS XP Restore proc. Folders/subfolders were preserved as were shortcuts within them, but real files (ie: JPGs, HTMs, TXT, etc.) are missing. Fortunately many of the missing files are backed up. but is there any hope to recover those that weren't? The JV16 "backup" subdir doesn't have what I'm looking for, neither does the recycle bin, and I haven't been able to find any instruction on recovery in the JV16 on-line 'manual'.

Any suggestion will be appreciated. Am I out of luck here?

If you realy used the wipe feature, then im afraid ur out of luck.

The wipe feature first writes the files all with 0 for example.

After that it removes the file.

If it made a backup, then you need to go to the backup windows within PowerTools.

File > Backup Tool.

Hoopfully you can find there your missing files.
