Add/Remove menu

Hello,

i've found the following problem with the add/remove menu in windows xp and all available tools (including newest jv16 powertools 2005 beta2) that said it can handle this part. I've for example 10 entrys for DVDInfoPro in XP Add/Remove. In jv16 and all! found tools in the web i've only 1 entry for this. Ok, why? I go first in Regedit to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

and found this entrys as cryptic strings. I removed all except the one with the highest version number. XP's Add/Remove still display the 10 entrys, the other tools 1. I researched the web for more information and found out that it has to do with windows installer. I found then the rest of entrys in

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products

There is also a utility named Windows Install Clean Up from Microsoft that display all 10 entrys with version number (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;290301) and has a remove button but i've not removed the entrys yet. My question now is: Can you make it possible that Registry Manager -> Add/Remove menu can handle this windows installer entrys?

I've attached screenshots from Windows Add/Remove, JV16 Add/Remove, MS Installer Cleanup and one of a third program

i know how i can remove this entrys but i think if JV16 can handle this also then it blows all competitors away. None of all the tools and utilities i found in the web except installer cleanup from MS was able to show me the same as windows Add/Remove. I think that these tools all only display and handle

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

and leave the other installer generated entrys alone.

I Thought i had reported this also a few mounths ago .

Whas something about FireFox i thought.

But that would indeed be very nice to include.

Thisway it will be easy to cleanup the Windows Add/Remove menu :).

Hello jv16 & BlackDex,

It makes me happy to hear that this will be added to JV16. It will help a lot to resolve problems like "Program already installed, cannot continue" while install and "failed" while uninstall. Palm Desktop for example was such a program that refused uninstall and installation. Or the nice programs like Norton ..... Only the use of the MS Cleaner has helped then to recover. So i'll not remove this entrys manually, i wait for the version JV16 that can do it
