Possible to change font or typeface in RSP?

I've just updated to the new RSP 1.7 version. I find the typeface somewhat harder to read. Can I change it to another font (e.g. Tahoma or Trebuchet) or size?

Hi tullik,

I tried your examples under the section of interface.dat, but no change. I then tried name=forte and size=20 just to see if I could force a significant change. Still no difference.

I didn't reboot between attempts, as the file-saves were successful and I assumed a .dat file would not require that.

Did I miss something?

A reboot is not required.

If the change you note didn't work, it is 99.999% certain that (1) either you have more than one RSP folder and the Settings directory where you made the change is not the one used by the program (most likely), (2) or you made the changes while the program was running (less likely).

I also tried size=20 -- very ugly ... :

Sadly, neither condition is true for me. I have only one RSP folder and one interface.dat file (checked via Search) and I wasn't running it when I made the changes. I tried adding the name and size lines to next, and then both and without success.

I have a .pdf screenshot of the interface.dat file open in Notepad, showing the changes, and showing the subfolder paths where I edited it. However, I don't see how to attach it to this post. Would it help to send that file?

Since my 99.999% certainty was wrong, : let's try a different approach.

Here's my interface.dat. You can see if yours is radically different. In this case, I think the short code reveals more than a screenshot. :) I don't believe the order of the bracketed headings or of the keywords under them matters …

Interesting. My default interface.dat is quite different than yours. I'll follow your advice and copy mine here:

As you can see, I don't have a or section, and I have fewer items in the matching sections.

Wonder how you got all those in yours?

Hmmm. It didn't work. I C&P your text directly into the file with no success. I even tried varying the font & size ... no luck.

I wonder if the difference is the fact that you have the full suite (PowerTools) whereas I have just RSP.

Any chance the developer might step in here and help us?

That's not it. I just installed RSP alone on a child's computer, then added font items to interface.dat --

It worked -- I confirmed by making Size=20.

What does this look like on your computer?

That's the same as the one I installed on the child's computer.

If C:\Program Files\RegSupreme Pro\Settings\Directories.dat looks like this:

Note to jv16: when I did this RSPro installation on the child's computer, I choose the English only option in the tutorial.

All the languages and icons were installed anyway.

The Directories.dat is identical to yours.

I have all your RSP folder items, plus more. I have Data and Documentation sub-folders, plus I have a data2.xbin, a license.xbin, and the 2 uninstall files.

But it still doesn't work ...
